Lagos — The Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, has relocated its marine pilots to office area of the Nigerian Immigration Service, NIS, Apapa Command to give room for the ongoing rehabilitation works of the its control tower inside the Apapa Port Complex.
A visit to control otherwise known as Bull nose showed that the entire complex of the tower was barricaded with construction works going on.
It also gathered that the rehabilitation contract was awarded to Julius Berger for an amount that could not be ascertain.
Effort after to comments from the General Manager, Marine and Operations, Captain Jerome Angywune was futile as calls to his phone lines were not answered.
