Port Harcourt — The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, has arrested three persons over alleged illegal dealings in adulterated petroleum products suspected to be illegally refined Automotive Gasoline Oil, otherwise known as diesel.

The suspects were arrested along the Akwa Ibom State axis of the East-West Road, to while allegedly conveying over 60 sack bags of adulterated AGO, in a truck meant for the transportation of agro-allied products and sand.

NSCDC Commandant in Akwa Ibom State, Mr Samuel Fadeyi, disclosed that the suspects tactfully concealed the products under large amount of sand loaded on the truck, with the intent to deceive operatives of the Corps on patrol.

Fadeyi pointed out that Command will thoroughly investigate the matter before the suspects are charged to a court of competent jurisdiction for prosecution.

The NSCDC boss warned all oil theives, illegal bunkerers, pipeline vandalists and other criminal elements in the state, to desist from their nefarious activities, as there was no hiding place for crime under his watch in the state.

He reiterated that the mandate of the Corps is to protect critical national infrastructures in the country and will not tolerate any form of vandalism and economic sabotage in the state.
