18 August, 2011, Sweetcrude – Thought leaders in the global local content community will gather in London 26th to 29th September for the 7th Annual Global Local Content Summit.
It is the sixth edition of the event which usually attracted senior local content leaders from the global oil and gas industry.
Event director for the summit, Luke Treacy, said this year’s summit, building on the success of the six previous ones, would offer opportunities for high-level presentations, discussions and networking.
“This year’s event has seen an unprecedented interest from the oil and gas community. In the last year we have seen a significant rise in upstream activity serving to heighten the focus on local content,” Treacy said.
He added; “It is about securing direct and indirect opportunities for employment and procurement to home nationals, at the same time as fostering the development of local skills, technology transfer, and use of local manpower and local manufacturing in capital projects.”
The summit will attract Ernest Nwapa, General Manager, Nigerian Content Development Board; Caetano Capitão, Director of the Angolan Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Emmanuel Buah, Ghana’s Deputy Minister for Petroleum; Mathew Lynch, Programme Manager, World Business Council for Sustainable Development and Diego Perez,Communications Director, Shell Iraq Petroleum Development, among others.
