Port Harcourt — Massive oil spill from a facility operated by the Nigerian Agip Oil Company, NAOC, has rocked Aggah community in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

This is coming barely a month after a massive fire broke out from an oil facility belonging to the same NAOC, in Ubeta community, Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The cause of the oil spill is yet to be ascertained, as at the time of filing this report.

The National Oil Spill Dectection and Response Agency, NOSDRA, who confirmed the development, said NAOC has reported the oil spill to the agency and the area has been sealed off.

Port Harcourt Zonal Director of NOSDRA, Cyrus Nkangwung, told our correspondent that a JIV team is currently at the scene of the incident, and would give a comprehensive report by tomorrow.
