“I am optimistic,” Bouterfa told APS and Algerian TV following a meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy, Industry and Mining Resources Khalid Al-Falih, and the secretary general of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Mohammed Barkindo.

“We are in contact with the members and the secretary general of OPEC, it is part of the consensus (process) and I am optimistic,” he stressed.

The minister added that Algiers meetings, on September 27th, of the International Energy Forum and the informal OPEC ministerial meeting have been at the heart of discussions in Paris.
