Australia to export 58.1 million mt of LNG in 2017-18
The Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, has appointed United Arab Emirate, UAE’s Minister of Energy, Suhail Mohammed Al Mazrouei, as its next president.
The election was announced at the end of its 173rd meeting with Non-OPEC oil producers in Vienna, Austria.
Al Mazrouei’s appointment takes effect from January 1, 2018.
The OPEC conference in Vienna paid tribute to the outgoing president of the conference and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, Khalid A. Al-Falih, and the chairman of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee 2017, Issam A. Almarzooq, for their “exemplary leadership” and the major contributions towards success of the Declaration of Cooperation.
It then appointed Eng. Hugo Patricio Larrea, Ecuador’s Governor for OPEC, as Chairman of Board of Governors for 2018, and Equatorial Guinea Ad-hoc Governor of OPEC, Justo Camilo Gopegui Nchuchuma, as Alternate Chairman for same period.
OPEC’s next ordinary meeting will hold on June 22, 2018 in Vienna, Austria.
