11 May 2014, News Wires -Brazilian state-run oil company Petrobras has been forced to open its bank accounts to Brazilian police after a federal court granted access on Thursday.
The company has been implicated in a money laundering probe focused on refineries in Brazil and the US.
Police now have access to information on transactions between Petrobras and companies involved in the construction of the Abreu e Lima refinery, Reuters reported.
Camargo Correa and Sanker construction and engineering groups are among the companies being investigated.
The order covers transactions from 1 January 2009 to 31 December 2013.
Police will also have access to the banking records of former Petrobras head of refining and fuel supply Paulo Roberto Costa.
He was arrested in March as part of Operation Lava Jato.
Petrobras was not available immediately for comment when approached by Reuters.
