    Petrobras, others for honour at OTC 2015

    14 February 2015, Sweetcrude, Houston, Texas – The 2015 Offshore Technology Conference, OTC, will kick off on Sunday, May 3 in Houston with the annual OTC Dinner to honour recipients of this year’s distinguished achievement awards, organisers of the event have announced.
    OTC will recognize Elmer (Bud) Danenberger III for individual achievement, the Petrobras pre-salt development for corporate achievement, and Ray R. Ayers with the Heritage Award.
    Founded in 1969, OTC brings together industry leaders and professionals from more than 130 countries, with its large international participation providing excellent opportunities for global sharing of technology, expertise, products, and best practices. The 2015 event will be held May 4 to 7 at NRG Park in Houston, Texas.
    Danenberger III would be honoured for his significant contributions to offshore safety and environmental protection. He held a 38-year career with the US Department of the Interior in the offshore oil and gas programme.
    The award for Petrobras recognises its pre-salt development for their successful implementation of ultra-deepwater solutions and setting new water depth records while the Heritage Award would be presented to Ray R. Ayers, in recognition of his 50+ years in offshore research and development contributions to the industry through joint-industry programmes he formed at Shell and R&D work he performed for the Pipeline Research Council International, DeepStar, the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, and Research Partnerships to Secure Energy for America.
