25 December 2017, Sweetcrude, Port Harcourt — The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHEDC, has assured her customers in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River and Rivers states of improved services during and after the yuletide season.
The assurance was made by the Acting Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Engr. Kingsley Achife during his Christmas message to customers in Port Harcourt.
The PHED Boss said that the company has put a strategic plan in place with a view to ensuring that all faults that may occur during the festive period would be immediately tackled and fixed.
He further disclosed that all the cash points across PHED offices will be open to customers for payment of electricity bills throughout the festive period including weekends, adding that customers can make use of the online vending platform for payment by visiting www.phed.com.ng.
“Though the network has been strengthened and fortified by our technical crew, in the event that any transient or major fault occurs, our men will be on ground to tackle it immediately.
“A roaster has been made to that effect and circulated to the staff .
“In this season of love, PHED will partner with her valued customers to ensure that safe and reliable power is provided and paid for,” Engr. Achife said.
However, the Acting CEO frowned at the habit of those whom he regarded as consumers. This group according to him, are those who have seen electricity as a social service and not to be paid for.
Achife wondered how the company would survive if the attitude of non-payment of electricity bills persisted.
He, therefore, appealed to them to pay for their electricity bills so that the company would continue to improve in her service delivery to her customers.
