Port Harcourt — The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHED, has announced plans to promote a large number of its staffers, who have distinguished themselves in the company, before the end of the first quarter of this year.
Acting Manager, Corporate Communications, Chioma Aninwe, said the move was to further demonstrate the company’s focus on staff welfare as a central theme in its strategic repositioning plan towards attainment of its vision.
Aninwe disclosed that the plan was a new feat as no such significant staff number had ever been contemplated for promotion nor such rigorous process followed to ensure total process integrity.
She said the company has staff welfare at its core in moving the company forward, hence the signing of conditions of service with workers’ unions in 2020 – the National Union of Electricity Employees, NUEE, and the Senior Staff Association of Electricity Employees and Allied Companies, SSAEC.
She stated: “To further demonstrate management’s focus on staff welfare as a central theme in its strategic repositioning plan towards attainment of its vision, PHED has similarly earmarked a large number of staff that have distinguished themselves over time for promotion before the end of Q1, 2021.
“This again is a new feat as no such significant staff number had ever been contemplated for promotion nor such rigorous process followed to ensure total process integrity.
“We trust in the maturity of our staff to carry on in their usual activities as Management assures all that the future of this company has never been better.
“We are all partners in building a company to last and to deliver that first in class service quality our vision promises.”
