01 May 2018, News Wires – US energy giant ExxonMobil, the operator of the PNG LNG project, said it has restarted production from the second liquefied natural gas (LNG) train, LNG World News reports.

The facility is now operating at normal production rates and exports of LNG have resumed, ExxonMobil said.

Production has been gradually increasing since the Hides gas conditioning plant and one train at the PNG LNG plant restarted earlier in the month. The company expects to reach full capacity in May.

Prior to the shutdown after the February 26 earthquake, PNG LNG project was producing at an annualized rate of 8.6 mtpa.

To remind, PNG LNG project exported the first cargo, after production was restarted earlier this month, onboard the PNG LNG-dedicated 172,000-cbm Kumul liquefied natural gas carrier.
