Port Harcourt — The Rivers State Police Command says it has granted an approval to an oil servicing firm, Baker Hughes Company Limited, to destroy some explosive materials in its custody, which have been examined by relevant experts and found to have expired.
The exercise, according to the Police, will be carried out between Tuesday, March 12 and Friday, March 15, 2024, by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal of the Command at Kporghor Community in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer in Rivers State, Grace Iringe-Koko, urged members of the public and residents of Kporghor Community not to panic if they hear deafening loud sounds emanating from the exercise.
Iringe-Koko, who is a Superintendent of Police, further assured that every precautionary measure has been put in place to avert any danger during the exercise.
