Port Harcourt — The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHED, has attributed the blackout currently plaguing Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River States, to system collapse from the national grid.
PHED Manager, Corporate Communications, John Onyi, said the system collapse from the national grid occurred on the early hours of today, Wednesday, 29th April 2020.
Onyi, however, assured that frantic effort is being made by the engineers of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, to ensure its restoration.
He called on PHED customers in the four states to exercise patience, while waiting for the power restoration, irrespective of the restriction of movement.
“The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Plc, wishes to inform its numerous customers in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River and Rivers states that the power outage being experienced is due to system collapse from the National Grid that occurred at early hours of Wednesday, 29th April 2020.
“However, frantic effort is being made by the engineers of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, to ensure its restoration.
“PHED customers are therefore, urged to exercise patience while waiting for the power restoration irrespective of the restriction of movement.”
