Port Harcourt — Residents and businesses in Port Harcourt, Uyo, Yenagoa and Calabar are facing continued power disruptions as Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Plc, PHED, attributes the shortage to limited grid allocation.

In a statement to customers, the company explained that the persistent supply gaps are beyond its control and apologized for the inconvenience, assuring that normal electricity distribution will resume once the grid allocation increases.

“We deeply apologize for all inconveniences and assure you that normal supply will be restored as soon as we receive due allocation,” PHED management said, urging consumers to exercise patience and understanding.

The notice underscores the ongoing challenges in Nigeria’s power sector, where electricity distribution companies often face disruptions due to limited supply from the national grid, leaving businesses and households in critical urban centres like Port Harcourt grappling with inconsistent electricity.

Consumers are advised to plan accordingly as PHEN continues to manage the situation and coordinates with the grid operator to restore stable power supply.
