04 April 2017, Sweetcrude, Abuja – The House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee on the Review of Price of Petroleum Products  has accused some officials of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, of foreign exchange fraud.

Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Raphael Nnanna Igbokwe, who disclosed this in Abuja, said the committee was conducting its investigations with the seriousness it deserved so as to expose all those involved in the scam.

He also said the House of Representatives would drag those found to be involved in the deal to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for prosecution.

As part of its investigations, the Committee has invited the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu, and the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Mr Godwin Emefiele, to appear before it on Friday.

has threatened that the committee would get to the root of the matter to determine the level of involvement of officials of NNPC in the alleged foreign exchange manipulation.
