    Rivers arrests four suspected sea pirates

    Port Harcourt — The Rivers State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Agency says it has arrested four suspected sea pirates, who terrorized the waterways in the state.

    Director General of the Corps, Mr. Uche Chukwuma, who made the announcement in a statement said the suspects were arrested in Ibot Irem, Andoni Local Government Area of the State.

    Chukwuma disclosed that the suspects are, Nkponkiwe Daniel, from Ibot Irem; Kpagwung Mark from Ajakajak; ThankGod Vincent, also from Ibot Irem; and Eli Sunday, who is also from Ibot Irem, all in Andoni LGA.

    The Neighbourhood Safety Corps’ boss added that the suspects confessed to stealing a military boat at Degema this year, as well as boat belonging to Andoni Local Government Council.

    He added that operatives of the Rivers State Neighbourhood Safety Corps have taken the suspects to the Andoni Local Government Council and intend to hand them over to the Police for further investigtion and possible prosecution.
