15 March 2017, Sweetcrude, Port Harcourt – A group known as Ebocha New Base Landlords, in Mbebede community in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local government Area of Rivers State, has threatened to shut down the facility of Nigerian Agip Company, NAOC located in the area over inability of the company to consider members of the community for employment.
The group while briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, said since 1980 when the community and NAOC entered into an agreement, the company is yet to develop the area and consider their sons and daughters as staff of the company.
Speaking, the Youth Chairman of the Landlords Association in the local government area, Prince Onyx Ijeoma, said the community has made several peaceful steps to draw the attention of the company to come to their aid but all efforts have proved abortive.
