Port Harcourt — The Rivers State Government, on Monday sealed three petrol stations in Port Harcourt, over fuel hike and under-dispensing of products.

The filling stations sealed include, Energymatix along Olu-Obasanjo Road; Excelsis along Elelenwo Road.

The Rivers State Commissioner of Energy and Natural Resources, Dr. Peter Medee, who led a compliance tour on filing stations in the state, said some of the stations were sealed for illegal collection of N50 stamp duty from customers.

Medee warned that the state government will not allow petrol station owners to shortchanged Rivers people, while encouraging members of the public to report any filling station with sharp practices.

“The ministry is ready. We have front desk officers with dedicated phone numbers, every member of the public is advised to call the ministry and report these sharp practices.

“We will not tolerate it. We are on top of our game and we will seal all the stations involved in sharp practices. Under-dispensing, adulterated products and other unsafe practices, we will not tolerate them.”
