Lagos — The Royal Dutch Shell has lifted the force majeure on the export of Nigeria’s number one crude grade, Bonny Light, according to the company’s spokesperson, Mr. Bamidele Odugbesan.

The order was lifted on Tuesday.

Confirming this to SweetcrudeReports on telephone on Tuesday, Odugbesan said the lift affects just Shell’s export, and not Aiteo’s Nember Creek Trunk Line, NCTL.

“Yes. We lifted the force majeure on our own export. You know the order affected two, ours and that of NCTL. But we lifted ours yesterday,” he said.

The declaration had been in place since late April following the closure of the Nembe Creek Trunk Line by operator Aiteo.

Calls put across by SweecrudeReports to Aiteo’s spokesperson, Mr. Ndiana Matthew, got no response at the time of filing this report. Text messages to his telephone line and email messages to his email address equally did not yield any response.
