Lagos — Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva will lead a host of other high level speakers and panelists at this year’s International Energy Health Safety and Environment, IEHSE Summit.

The event, with the theme: Collaborating for an Energy Safe Nigeria will hold virtually from 12noon to 3pm West Africa Time (WAT) on 7th – 8th of October 2020.

Other prospective speakers include Mallam Mele Kyari, Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC); Engr. Sarki Auwalu, Director, Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), CEOs of Energy Companies, and Industry Experts.

Guaranteeing energy availability for sustainable economic development necessitates the need for the critical areas of Health, Safety, Security, Environment, Quality & Social Responsibility (HSSEQSR) in oil and gas operations to be effectively managed in line with global best practices.

Furthermore, taking cognizance of the integrated nature of the entire energy, oil and gas industry, the need for all stakeholders to synergise so as to achieve the Global Vision Zero Incidents target has become imperative.

The IEHSE Virtual Summit 2020 seeks to foster meaningful collaborations amongst all key players and stakeholders across the entire energy, oil and gas value chain with a view to upscaling performance in HSSEQSR management.

According to Mr James Ashokeji, MD of IEHSE Limited (event organiser): “The Summit will provide a platform for stakeholders to share best practices, progressive approaches and innovative applications that enhance HSSEQSR performance. Furthermore, emphasis will be placed on leveraging lessons learnt to increase efficiency, reduce losses and incidents while creating value across the entire energy sector.”

Participants in this virtual summit will benefit by leveraging on the rich reservoir of expert knowledge, insights and experiences from key players in the HSSEQSR domain of the oil and gas industry.
