    Smuggling: Algeria seizes 920 litres of fuel

    29 September 2015, Algiers —Algeria’s Ministry of National Defence says an all-terrain vehicle loaded with 920 litres of fuel was seized Sunday in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, in the country’s South.

    IPMAN-fuel pump“As part of measures to strengthen border security and fight against organized crime, a detachment of the operational area of Bordj Badji Mokhtar (6th Military Region) seized, on 27 September 2015, an all-terrain vehicle carrying 920 litres of fuel,” said the statement.

    “Units of the border guards of the operational area of Tlemcen (2nd Military Region) seized a car loaded with 400 kg of foodstuffs intended to be smuggled,” said the source.

    “Units of the National Gendarmerie seized in Oran and Mascara a car and 7,568 bottles of various beverages,” said the Ministry’s statement.

    “Units of National Gendarmerie of Bechar (3rd Military Region) arrested two drug traffickers, riding motorbikes, with 19 kg of cannabis resin in their possession,” said the statement.

    “A detachment of the operational area of Laghouat (4th Military Region) seized a hunting rifle and a quantity of ammunition,” concluded the Ministry’s statement.
