18 August 2014, News Wires – Norway’s Statoil has shut down production at the Sleipner A platform in the North Sea after a gas alarm went off.
A local newspaper reported that the fault on the platform was caused by condensate evaporation.
According to the Stavanger Aftenblad, the problem was quickly resolved and all of the workers remained on the rig.
Statoil’s Sleipner East field is among Norway’s biggest gas fields producing about 5.9 billion cubic metres of gas per year.
