25 June 2014, Sweetcrude, Lagos – Swire Oilfield Services, the leading global supplier of cargo carrying solutions, modular systems, offshore aviation services and fluid management has announced plans to further invest in Southeast Asia with the development of three new operational yards and the arrival of new rental equipment to its fleet.
The company, which established its first Southeast Asia base in Singapore in 2010 and has since opened further bases across the region, is the largest supplier of DNV certified cargo carrying units in the Southeast Asia market.
To better meet increasing customer demand in the region, the company has invested more than $10 million USD by expanding its cargo carrying unit rental fleet and further developing operating bases in Myanmar, Malaysia and Thailand. Development is due to be completed on all new bases by the end of the first quarter 2014 and is predicted to bring additional employment opportunities in local areas as the supporting operational infrastructure continues to expand in Southeast Asia.
Troy Brice, Director and Regional General Manager Asia Pacific, commented on further establishing the company’s presence in the region.
He said: “The announcement follows a successful 2013 for the team in Southeast Asia which resulted in multiple long-term contract wins with multinational customers, increase in workforce and our service capability leading to recognition across the industry of our high quality offering to the market. This played a key part in contributing to achieving the company’s overall global growth plans.
“Since becoming the market leader and largest supplier in the Asia Pacific region, we are committed to continuing to provide our customers with the highest quality, innovative products and services. This is delivered through our engineering design and safe operability, skilled customer service and collaboration with logistic base partners.
“Our team reinforced this commitment in 2013 by achieving ISO22301 Business Continuity Management certification, as well as 1000 days lost time incident (LTI) free across the Asia Pacific region. Achievement of both of these milestones is the result of team work and consolidation of what we simply do best as a services company in the oil & gas industry.
“We are continuing to demonstrate our commitment to the region with the opening of the new facilities, a major expansion of our equipment fleet as well as bringing innovative products and services to the market. This is an exciting phase in our global growth plans of which we are very much looking forward to be a part of.
