    Total urges NAEC to emphasize analytical reporting, pragmatic solutions

    Lagos — Total Nigeria has urged the Association of Energy Correspondent of Nigeria, NAEC, to come up with “pragmatic solutions” to the challenges in the oil and gas sector.

    During his remark at the yearly NAEC conference held today in Lagos, Country Communication Manager, Total, Mr. Charles Ebereonwu said the Nigerian oil and gas sector is bedeviled with numerous challenges, calling on the Association for workable solutions as against yearly ritual discussions which may go unattended to.

    “There is a need for pragmatic solutions for the challenges in the oil and gas sector”, he said.

    Adding that the French oil firm expects ” yearly comparative analysis of the discussions held at the conference, alongside workable solutions” that will help in ticking the boxes of what has been achieved as a result of the conference.

    The conference which had dignitaries in the oil and gas present, saw practitioners and stakeholders discuss on the theme: ‘Harnessing Oil and Gas Potential for National Development’, as well as sub-themes such as ‘Effect of Sanctity of Contracts in Commercial Operations’, and ‘Commercial Viability in Gas to Power Value Chain’.

    The National Nigerian Petroleum Corporation, NNPC’s spokesman, Ndu Ughamadu who was also one of the founding fathers of the Association, was during the conference, honoured with a lifetime award for his immense and profound contribution to energy reporting in Nigeria.
