Cape Town — Uganda expects to announce the winning bidder among four contesting groups for a new 60,000 barrel per day (bpd) oil refinery next month, the country’s Energy Minister Ruth Nankabirwa told Reuters on Tuesday.
The latest development comes after negotiations with a consortium that included a unit of U.S. firm Baker Hughes lapsed in June over its failure to mobilise financing in time. (Reporting by Wendell Roelf; Writing by Tannur Anders and Bhargav Acharya; Editing by Susan Fenton) – Reuters
