Kunle Kalejaye 01 April 2017, Sweetcrude, Lagos – The United Kingdom National Crime Agency, NCA, has filed another application in the Westminster Magistrates Court to hold on to cash seized from Nigeria’s former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
The agency had in October 2015 seized 27,000 pounds from the former Nigerian oil minister after obtaining a court permission to temporarily seize the cash following her investigation over a financial scandal that unfolded earlier that year.
According to BBC reporter, Sam Piranty, on his twitter handle, @sampiranty, NCA has until August 25 this year to file another application to hold on to the cash seized from Diezani and one Beatrice Agama.
Piranty added that the next hearing for the case is August 25, 2017 at 2pm in Westmister Magistrate Court.
When SweetcrudeReports contacted Sam Piranty by email to seek confirmation about his twitter report in the Diezani and Beatrice vs NCA case, he confirmed the development.
