29 October 2012, Sweetcrude, COTONOU – LONDON-listed Gasol has signed a memorandum of understanding for its recently formed joint venture with Benin’s BenGaz to supply gas to Communaute Electrique du Benin, CEB.
Gasol formed a joint venture with BenGaz last month, named Cogaz, to develop gas distribution infrastructure and supply in Benin.
It said it was working to station a floating storage regasification unit in the harbour at the city of Cotonou in Benin.
The unit will be used to supply liquefied natural gas to customers in Benin and Togo, including CEB which is the electric authority for both countries.
Gasol added it would now work with CEB to finalise the terms of a gas sales agreement with the company.the end of December or the start of January after last month’s deal.
