Chris-Yaluma28 December 2013, Lusaka – Mines Minister Christopher Yaluma has raised the alarm over foreign companies who are mining gold in Zambia under the pretext of exploring oil.

Yaluma who did not cite any example said the government had deployed police officers in Vubwi Constituency among other places to stop the alleged illegal activity.

He said that foreigners who will be found to engage in the activity would be prosecuted.

Curiously Vubwi which has been put top of the list in deploying police officers has a pending by-election with President Michael Sata having already made one round of campaigns even before a date has been announced by the Electoral Commission of Zambia.
