Port Harcourt — The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, has called on Nigerian youths to take advantage of its Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Joint Qualification System, NOGICJQS, to access training and employment opportunities in the petroleum sector.

The Board said the NOGICJQS remains the central database for indigenous manpower and service providers in the oil and gas industry, stressing that only those registered can be considered for skill development and industry jobs.

Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, made the call during a strategic engagement with media practitioners and youth stakeholders in Port Harcourt, noting that the portal is designed to connect qualified Nigerians with available opportunities.

Ogbe representing the Executive Secretary, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, the Director of Corporate Services, Dr. Abdulmalik Halilu, outlined milestones of Nigerian Content implementation.

“Our message to Nigerian youths is clear, if you want to participate in oil and gas, you must be visible on NOGICJQS. This is where operators and service companies first look when they need skilled manpower,” he stated.

He explained that the platform helps NCDMB track compliance with local content requirements while ensuring transparency in employment.

According to Ogbe, the database has already facilitated thousands of placements in training and field assignments, adding that the Board would intensify awareness campaigns across universities and technical institutions.

“We are determined to reduce unemployment by linking Nigerian youths directly to opportunities.

“The oil industry is a highly technical environment, and without registration, one cannot access the benefits of local content initiatives,” Ogbe said.
