    Anti-kidnapping task force nabs 3 kidnappers, rescues 2

    The Anti- Kidnapping Task Force of the Delta State Waterways Security Committee, DWSC, Warri, has rescued two women, abducted by kidnappers and also nabbed three of the suspected kidnappers.

    The details of the successful operation was not clear, yesterday, but the task force, comprising DWSC members and policemen stormed the hideout of the kidnappers inside the forest on the outskirt of Aladja community.

    It was gathered that the kidnappers who demanded for N2 million ransom were waiting for the payment when the task force swooped on them and arrested three of them. Chairman of the task force, Mr. Boro Pudu as well as the Delta state police spokesman, Mr. Charles Muka confirmed the arrest.

    A police personnel at the office of the Area Commander, Warri, where the suspects were being held as at yesterday said a vehicle used by the gang in their operation was recovered. The gang, according to information, was behind the kidnap of a Chevron staff, said to be a union president and others, not too long ago.

    The group also abducted a retired NNPC staff who died in their custody at Ughelli area of the stake even when they had collected ransom from the family.
