    PPPRA, OTL partner to host annual downstream conference

    24 September 2013, Abuja – The Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) has partnered organisers of the Oil Trading and Logistics (OTL) Expo towards hosting the 7th edition of the event, which holds October 29-31,in Lagos.

    The OTL Africa Downstream Expo is the biggest gathering of downstream petroleum operators in Nigeria, and brings together operators, regulators and service providers in the downstream energy supply chain.

    Executive Secretary of the PPPRA, Mr. Reginald Stanley, said: “We are pleased to recognise the platform of the OTL Expo as being crucial to the development of business skills, knowledge, trade and investment within the Nigerian downstream petroleum sector. Through our collaboration, we propose to make the OTL Africa Downstream Expo a hub for downstream petroleum business in Africa, and thereby promote increased investment in the Nigerian downstream market.” He also restated the agency’s commitment towards strengthening and promoting efficiency of petroleum products markets in Nigeria.

    Chairman of OTL Africa Downstream Mr. Emeka Akabogu, who briefed journalists on preparations for the forthcoming event, stated that the event is the principal knowledge, brand and business development tool for companies and organisations doing business in the downstream petroleum market in Africa.

    He noted that this year’s event, with a theme, “Investment and Competitiveness in Downstream Energy”, will operate through an elaborate conference and exhibition and will also feature the downstream petroleum industry dinner and awards.

    He said: “Hundreds of industry-specific speakers, delegates, exhibitors and visitors are expected to be part of the three-day event which will cover issues and sectors including refining, oil trading and marketing, financing, logistics, pricing, tank storage, shipping, gas and other aspects of the downstream petroleum supply chain. The event over the years has provided excellent opportunities for brain-storming, trading, networking and business match-making.”
