26 March 2018, Sweetcrude, Lagos — The Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, Hadiza Bala Usman weekend commissioned six new operation vehicles at the Lagos Port Complex (LPC), Apapa.

The Port Manager of LPC, Hajia Aisha Ali-Ibrahim, who represented Usman at the commissioning, said, “Lagos Port Complex has been directed to run 24 hours service and these are the working tools. These are security vehicles and operational vehicles to ensure that we meet up the expectations in terms of keeping the port environment safe and secured and also for monitoring activities of terminal operators. We can move around and be very confident in these strong new vehicles.”

She said the vehicles would be used by security and operation staff.

The Commissioner, Western Ports Police Command, Celestine Okoye, who was represented by Assistant Commissioner of Police Taiwo Adeleke, said the police would continue to carry out their constitutional responsibility of ensuring the safety of lives and properties within the port environment
