…Board approves resignation of director

11 January 2019, Sweetcrude, Lagos — The board of directors of MRS Oil Nigeria Plc has approved the appointment of Mrs Priscilla Thorpe-Apezteguia as acting Managing Director of the company.
The board also accepted the resignation of Mr Andrew Gbodume as Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of the company with immediate effect.
The appointment of Mrs. Thorpe-Apezteguia and approval of Mr. Gbodumeroval’s resignation were contained in a memo dated January 7, 2019 sent to the Nigerian Stock Exchange by MRS on Thursday.
According to the memo signed by Company Secretary, Mrs. O.M. Jafojo, the management through a written resolution, approved Gbodume’s resignation as Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer, and approved the appointment of Thorpe-Apezteguia as Director and acting Managing Director of the company.
Mrs. Thorpe-Apezteguia holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in International Studies and Business from the University of Coventry, United Kingdom.
She has over 17 years’ experience in the oil and gas sector and has held high-level positions in reputable organisations such as Executive Director, Operations at Energy Solutions Integrated Services; Senior Manager, Business Development at Oando Plc; Head of Marketing/Customer Service Unit, Retail Manager, South West and Sales, and Marketing Manager, all at MRS Oil.
Until her new appointment, she was the Group Sales and Marketing Manager of MRS Oil and Gas Limited.
Her appointment is with immediate effective.
