Port Harcourt — The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHED, has attributed the ongoing blackout currently being experienced in the four states of its operation, to a system collapse from the national grid.
PHED Manager, Corporate Communications, Mr John Onyi, appealed to its valued customers in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River and Rivers State to exercise patience while effort is being made towards early restoration.
Onyi assured that the technical crew from Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, were already on ground to fix the problem.
“A system collapse from the national grid that occurred late Friday night has caused power outage, thereby affecting numerous customers of Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River and Rivers states.
“However, a report received from the Transmission Company of Nigeria, has indicated that the national outage is receiving attention from their technical crew.
“PHED, therefore, appeals to its valued customers in the aforementioned states to exercise patience while frantic effort is being made towards early restoration.”
Meanwhile, the Port Harcourt Disco has announced that its offices across the four states of Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River and Rivers States, remain open for operations during the Eid El Maulud celebration.

Onyi assured that its technical crew will be on ground to attend to any fault that may impede power supply in its area of coverage, while encouraging customers to, in the event of power supply loss, call 070022557433 for prompt attention and clearing.
