Port Harcourt — The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, Engr. Simbi Wabote, has expressed concerns over a lull in the operations of the Nigerian Agip Oil Company, NAOC, in the country.
Wabote said NAOC has been absent even at the Board’s recent conferences and events, pointing out that the firm has made “little to no appearances at many industry activities in the recent past”.
The NCDMB boss spoke while receiving the new Managing Director of NAOC, Mr. Fabrizio Bloomfied, in Abuja.
He said his recent visit to the company’s facilities raised his concerns because it appeared as if the operations of the firm were being shut down.
Responding, the new Managing Director of the company, Mr. Bloomfied assured that the company’s activities will pick up soon.
Also speaking, NAOC’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Mr. Barry Nwibani, recalled that the Executive Secretary of the NCDMB played the role of a father figure to most stakeholders in the oil and gas industry, adding that the Board and NAOC have had a fruitful and collaborative relationship that would be sustained.
