cooking gas16 December 2014, Lagos – Sequel to  last weekend’s explosion of a gas tank in Akure, Ondo State capital, gas dealers and security agencies have disagreed on the execution of the government directive barring sale of the product in areas where there are many houses.

Consequently, traders on Tuesday called on the state government to check the activities of security agents whom they accused of extorting and harassing their members who were doing their normal gas businesses

The traders under the aegis of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Retailers Association of Nigeria (LPGRAN) alleged that security agents and officials of the State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development are acting on the order of the governor to prevent them from opening their shops.

The complaints of the traders was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman, Secretary and Public Relations Officer, Mr Amondi Gbenga , Gbadamosi Emmanuel and Taiwo Fayehun respectively and made to journalists on Tuesday.
