    Akwa Ibom seeks UAE partnership on Ibom Deep Seaport project

    Port Harcourt — Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has sought partnership with the United Arab Emirates, UAE on the Ibom Deep Seaport project, aimed at transforming the state into a major maritime hub.

    During a courtesy visit to the UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, H.E. Salem Saeed Al-Shamsi, Governor Eno also announced his intention to collaborate with the UAE in areas like agriculture, healthcare, education, and security.

    However, the centerpiece of the discussion was the Ibom Deep Seaport project, which the state government believes has immense potential for economic growth.

    The Governor emphasized the need for foreign investment and technical expertise to bring the project to fruition.

    Responding, the UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, Salem Saeed Al-Shamsi, promised to work with the Governor in exploring avenues for collaborations in the aforementioned areas.
