    Akwa Ibom sets N80,000 as new minimum wage

    Port Harcourt — Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has announced a new minimum wage of N80,000 for all state government employees.
    The move, according to the state government, was in demonstration of the governor’s commitment to improving workforce welfare.
    A statement by the Commissioner for Information in the state, Mr Ini Ememobong, said a 15-member implementation committee, chaired by the Head of Civil Service, have been inaugurates by Governor Eno, to ensure a seamless rollout of the new minimum wage.
    The committee, according to the statement, includes representatives from various state agencies, ensuring diverse perspectives.
    “Governor Eno’s decision reflects his dedication to enhancing workers’ economic well-being.” the Commissioner said in a statement.
