Port Harcourt — Ibom Developers Free Zone Enterprise, FZE, has reinforced its commitment to community development and educational advancement with the distribution of learning materials to pupils of Government Primary School, Isiotoyo Autonomous Community in Eastern Obolo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The initiative, implemented under the company’s educational support programme tagged “Ibom Developers and the Future Generation,” forms part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, and Community Development Programmes aimed at improving educational outcomes in its host communities.
Items distributed to the pupils included school bags, exercise books, writing materials, water bottles, tables, chairs, pencils, pens and other learning aids designed to enhance the learning environment and support academic excellence.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, the Community Development Programmes Coordinator of Ibom Developers Free Zone Enterprise, Ms. Grace Inyang, described the programme as a strategic investment in the future of the community and the next generation of leaders.
According to her, education remains one of the most effective tools for transforming communities and creating opportunities for sustainable development.
“At Ibom Developers Free Zone Enterprise, we believe that every child deserves access to quality educational resources regardless of their background. Through our ‘Ibom Developers and the Future Generation’ programme, we are investing in the leaders, professionals, innovators, and entrepreneurs of tomorrow,” she said.
Inyang noted that the company recognizes the critical role of education in nation-building and community development, adding that the intervention was designed to complement government efforts in improving access to quality education.
“We understand that learning becomes more effective when children have the necessary materials and a conducive environment. That is why we have provided school bags, books, writing materials, water bottles, tables, and chairs to support both the pupils and their teachers. We hope these items will motivate the children to remain committed to their studies and achieve their dreams,” she stated.
She further assured the community that the company would continue to implement people-centred development programmes across its host communities, stressing that its engagement goes beyond business operations.
“Our relationship with our host communities goes beyond business operations. We are committed to fostering sustainable development through investments in education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and other initiatives that create lasting positive impacts. Today’s programme is another demonstration of that commitment,” she added.
Addressing the pupils, Inyang urged them to remain focused on their education and strive to become responsible citizens capable of contributing meaningfully to society.
“You are the future generation that this programme is named after. We urge you to study hard, respect your teachers and parents, and believe in your ability to succeed. The future belongs to those who prepare for it today,” she said.
The intervention was warmly received by the pupils and teachers of Government Primary School, Isiotoyo, who described it as timely and impactful.
