Lagos — The Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, has reinforced its commitment to infrastructure development under the leadership of the Comptroller-General of Customs, CGC, as the Customs Area Controller of Edo/Delta Area Command, Comptroller Judith Kanu, inspected the newly renovated Sapele Outstation.
The inspection, aligns with the CGC’s broader vision of strengthening operational capacity through improved infrastructure and conducive working environments for personnel across Commands.
Accompanied by senior officers, Comptroller Kanu was received by officers of the outstation and taken on a guided tour of the facility, where she assessed the scope and quality of completed works.
The CAC observed significant upgrades, including structural rehabilitation of office buildings, repainting, and improvements to access points, such as the main gate. She also noted the provision of boreholes and water storage systems, as well as ongoing drainage improvements within the premises.
In line with the CGC’s emphasis on safeguarding government assets, enhanced security measures were also put in place, including reinforced perimeter fencing with barbed wire and the installation of solar-powered lighting to ensure round-the-clock visibility and protection.
Commending the quality of work, Comptroller Kanu stated that the renovation reflects the CGC’s commitment to modernising Customs formations nationwide.
“The level of work done here is commendable and in line with the CGC’s vision of providing a conducive working environment for officers. This will undoubtedly enhance operational efficiency and service delivery,” she said.
She further urged officers to uphold a strong maintenance culture to sustain the gains of the renovation, noting that preserving such investments is key to achieving long-term institutional effectiveness.
