PORT HARCOURT: NATIONAL president, CUSTOMS officers Wives Association (COWA) , Hajiya Sa’Adiya Abdullahi Dikko has inaugurated the Onne Port Command chapter of the body in Rivers state with a call on members to make good use of training and other opportunities offered by the body.
She said about one hundred and fifty members of the body have acquired training in a skill acquisition programme organised by the body in areas such as fashion and designing, tailoring, catering, computer operations and so on.
She further enjoined the women to endeavour to productively engage themselves in some of the areas, noting that it was no longer fashionable to remain completely idle as a house wife.
She said the body would continue to take steps to encourage its members to play active roles in the building of their homes. Adding, that soft loans would also be provided to members to enable them start up small businesses.
The president also enjoined individuals and organisations to support the body to achieve its lofty dreams for its members.
Others who spoke include the Chairperson, Onne Command, Mrs. Ochanya Dan Ugo she also charged members to be active players in the emerging economic world order. The occasion was also used to raise funds for the body.
