19 February 2018, Sweetcrude, Lagos – The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, has retracted the 10-day deadline given to the electricity distribution companies or Discos within which they would have to attend to customers’ complaints.

In a tweet through its official Twitter handle, @NERC on Sunday, the commission said the deadline given to Discos to address customers’ grievances was now fifteen days.

“@nercng regulation on customer’s complaints handling standards and procedures stipulates that Discos should resolve complaints within 15 working days and not 10 days as tweeted on@moneylineait,” the tweet read.

The commission had on February 5, tweeted a 10-day deadline for attending to complaints, urging electricity consumers to report any erring Disco.

“If Discos don’t attend to you within 10 days after your complaint, you can report them directly to NERC”, the initial statement had read.
