Port Harcourt — The Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, has generated N14.7 billion in revenue while inflicting losses worth over N2.5 billion on smugglers, underscoring intensified enforcement and trade compliance efforts.
The Acting Customs Area Controller, Oyo/Osun Command, Wale Adewole, disclosed this during a press briefing at the Command’s headquarters in Ibadan, highlighting a sharp rise in revenue performance and anti-smuggling operations.

Providing details of enforcement activities, he revealed that operatives intercepted a wide range of prohibited and smuggled goods, including 1,603 bags of foreign rice, 123 bales and 18 sacks of used clothing, 88 sacks of used shoes, and 1,351 used tyres.
