Lagos — The Eko Electricity Distribution Company, also known as Eko Disco, has appointed Wola Joseph-Condotti as its new Chief Executive Officer following the resignation of Rekhia Momoh.

The appointment comes less than two weeks after TransGrid Consortium completed its acquisition of a majority stake in Eko Disco, marking a new chapter for one of Nigeria’s largest power distribution utilities.

The appointment, which took immediate effect on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, marks a major leadership transition as the utility enters a new era under fresh ownership.

Until her appointment, Joseph-Condotti served as Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, West Power & Gas Limited, the former core investor in Eko Disco and eight other subsidiaries with diverse interests across the energy sector.

She played a pivotal role in the ₦360 billion acquisition of a 60% controlling stake in Eko Disco by Transgrid Enerco Limited, a consortium including North-South Power Company, Axxela Limited, and the Stanbic IBTC Infrastructure Growth Fund.

The landmark transaction, completed on December 30, 2025, is one of the largest privately negotiated deals in the Nigerian power sector since the 2013 privatization.

Joseph-Condotti brings decades of leadership experience in Nigeria’s power sector, including a ten-year tenure as Chief Legal & Company Secretary at Eko Disco, where she also oversaw compliance, regulatory affairs, customer service, human resources, and data protection.

Her appointment signals a focus on continuity and institutional knowledge during a period of ownership transition and strategic repositioning.

Joseph-Condotti holds an LLM from Harvard Law School and an MBA from INSEAD Business School. Her academic and professional background is complemented by her status as an International Finance Corporation, IFC, certified corporate governance trainer.

She is also a founding member of the Women in Energy Network, WIEN, and has been consistently recognized on the Legal 500 GC Powerlist: Nigeria.

Speaking on the appointment, the Board Chairman, Eko Electricity Distribution PLC, Engr. Olubunmi Peters said: “We are confident that we have made the right choice in Wola’s appointment. In selecting our interim CEO, we were particularly mindful to identify outstanding professionals with complementary and mutually reinforcing skills set.

“The appointment also re-articulates our commitment to put our stakeholders first with the confidence in the value that this new leadership team brings to bear on behalf of the Board, customers and employees, even as we strive to continually provide excellent services to our customers.”

In a farewell message to staff, Momoh expressed deep gratitude, describing her time as CEO as the greatest privilege of her professional life and praising the dedication of the workforce.

The Board also extended its appreciation for her dedicated service and leadership during her time at the helm of the organization.

“We thank Rekhiat Momoh for her commitment to Eko Disco and her efforts in advancing our mission to provide reliable electricity distribution services to our customers. We wish her well in her future endeavours,” Engr. Olubunmi Peters, Chairman of the Eko Disco Board of Directors said.

Under Joseph-Condotti’s leadership, EKEDC remains committed to enhancing service delivery, improving infrastructure, fostering collaboration across teams, and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships with customers, staff, regulators, and other stakeholders.
