27 February 2012, Sweetcrude, HOUSTON – US giant, Exxon Mobil Corporation, says its vice president, Human Resources, Lucille J. Cavanaugh has announced her intention to retire effective April 1, 2012, with more than 34 years of service.
It is anticipated that the board of directors will elect Malcolm Farrant as vice president, Human Resources, effective April1, the company said in a statement, Monday. Mr. Farrant is currently executive assistant to the chairman, Exxon Mobil Corporation.
A native of Philadelphia in the United States, Ms. Cavanaugh joined Mobil Corporation in June 1977. During her career, she held a wide range of petroleum refining, supply and marketing management positions.
These positions included president of Mobil Credit Corporation; general manager of supply and engineering, Mobil Corporation; managing director, Mobil Asia Pacific Ltd.; and vice president, global supply and distribution, ExxonMobil Refining & Supply Company.
In 2002, she was appointed vice president, Human Resources, Exxon Mobil Corporation.
Mr. Farrant, a native of the U.K., joined Mobil Corporation in March 1983 after receiving a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Nottingham University.
Mr. Farrant held several management positions with increasing responsibilities in marketing, lubricants and refining in the United Kingdom, Europe and Singapore.
In 2006, he was transferred to the United States and was appointed vice president, Basestocks, Specialties & Asphalt, ExxonMobil Lubricants & Specialties Company.
In 2010 he was appointed downstream business analysis and financial reporting manager, Exxon Mobil Corporation. Mr. Farrant was appointed to his current position at Exxon Mobil Corporation headquarters in Irving, Texas, in June 2011.
