Lagos — The Gombe State governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has called for stronger collaboration between the federal and state governments as a vital path to Nigeria’s sustainable development.
The governor made the call at the official groundbreaking of power projects at the 1,000-hectare Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park in Dadinkowa, Gombe State.
The 7.5MVA, 33/11kV Injection Substation, and a 2.5km 33kV line, executed in partnership between the Gombe State Government and the Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited, will connect the industrial park to the national grid.
The governor noted that the project will create over 3,000 jobs and accelerate industrial growth across the state.
He described the project as a perfect example of how Federal institutions can work hand in hand with subnational government in order to harness unique industrial and energy potentials.
He expressed confidence that partnerships like this will create more jobs, boost agricultural and industrial activities.
The MD/CEO of NDPHC, Engr Jennifer Adighije, reaffirmed the Company’s commitment to supporting Governor Yahaya’s vision of energy security and industrialization that will unlock socio-economic growth and prosperity for the people of Gombe State.
Executive Director, Networks, NDPHC, Engr. Bello Babayo Bello, further commended the Governor’s foresight, describing the project as a model for sustainable power and industrial development through strategic partnership.
“Together, we are not only expanding infrastructure but also empowering residences, creating opportunities and improving lives,” he said.
Once completed, the project will supply reliable electricity to the industrial park and surrounding communities, enhancing productivity, creating jobs, and improving livelihoods.
