19 October 2011, Sweetcrude, Dutse – The Jigawa State government has invited indigenous and foreign investors to exploit the abundant mineral resources of the state and establish small and medium scale industries.

The state commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Hajiya Hauwa Baffa, made the call in Dutse in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

She said the state had vast deposits of gold, copper, limestone, lead and potash, among other minerals that could be harnessed to enhance the state’s economic development.

Pledging the support of the state government to investors, the commissioner assured that the government would guarantee the security of their investments.

She said that the government could also enter into partnerships with the investors in some areas.
The commissioner noted that the peaceful environment in state would be appealing to investors who were
‘willing to exploit new grounds, new opportunities and new markets’.
