Port Harcourt — As part of her corporate social responsibility, the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, has donated medical equipment to three hospitals in Bayelsa State, namely Federal Medical Centre, Diete Koki Memorial Hospital and Tobis Clinic and Consultants.
Equipment donated by the Board include seven units of Synovent ventilator E3 (40-200ml) with accessories VT30, cart, tube assembly and oxygen mask to the three hospitals.
The Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Simbi Wabote said the donation is part of the Board’s corporate social responsibility to the Ministry of Health, for smooth operations and service delivery to all stakeholders and to support the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in the State.
Wabote also stated the commitment of the Board in collaborating with other ministries agencies and parastals as well as the private sector, to be able to discharge their responsibilities more effectively and efficiently.
At the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, the Head, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dr James Omietimi, received the items on behalf of the Chief Medical Director; while the Medical Director, Dr Emmanuel Fitepigi, received the donations from Board on behalf of Diete Koki Memorial Hospital, Yenagoa.
The Medical Director Tobis Clinic and Consultants, Dr Bonsome Bokolo, received the items and was thankfully for the Board’s support and collaborating with the private sector.
Also, the Chief Medical Director, Bayelsa State Hospital Management Board, Dr Doubara Donkumo, commended Wabote for the timely donations and the Board’s continous support for the fight against COVID 19 pandemic.
The NCDMB boss who was accompanied by the General Manager, Facilities and Logistics, Engr. Okey Egbuta and other staff of the Board, also commissioned the Tobis Clinic Critical Care Centre.
