Mkpoikana UdomaPort Harcourt — The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, in partnership with Halliburton Energy Services, TotalEnergies and Hobark Consultants Services, has kicked off a Well Testing Training Programme aimed at closing critical skills gaps in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
The programme was formally unveiled oat Ave Maria International Academy, Port Harcourt, marking another push by the Board to deepen indigenous capacity and enhance workforce competitiveness in the energy sector.
Speaking, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, represented by Mrs. Tarilate Teide-Bribena, Manager, Human Capacity Development, said the initiative reflects the Board’s deliberate strategy to invest in people as the backbone of Nigerian content growth.
“This programme is a strategic and life-changing opportunity for the beneficiaries,” she said. “It is designed to deliberately close existing skills gaps in the oil and gas industry and its linked sectors. We expect the trainees to conduct themselves professionally and strictly adhere to global best practices throughout the training.”
Representing TotalEnergies, Mr. Daniel Dents reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sustainable capacity building for Nigerians, stressing that human capital development remains central to long-term industry growth.

The ceremony also featured the administration of the oath of commitment to the trainees, officially signalling the commencement of the intensive capacity-building exercise.
