Port Harcourt — The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, has reconstituted the Executive Committee and membership of its Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit, ACTU, reaffirming its commitment to uphold integrity, transparency, and accountability in the oil and gas industry.

The inauguration ceremony took place at the Nigerian Content Tower in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, where the Director of Corporate Services and Chairman of ACTU-NCDMB, Dr. Abdulmalik Halilu, represented the Executive Secretary, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe.

Dr. Halilu said the reconstitution of the unit reflects NCDMB’s continuous effort to institutionalize transparency across its operations and strengthen collaboration with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC.

“Our partnership with the ICPC is fundamental to ensuring that the ideals of transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct remain embedded in our institutional culture,” Halilu stated. “The anti-corruption drive is not a one-off campaign but a continuous process that requires the collective commitment of every staff member.”

Halilu pledged that the unit will deepen advocacy for ethical standards and continue to strengthen internal systems to ensure compliance with public service rules.

“We are determined to make transparency a daily practice, not just a policy statement,” he said. “With continued support from the ICPC and management, we will consolidate the gains of the past years and sustain the trust of our stakeholders.”

Delivering a goodwill message, the Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner of ICPC, Rivers State, Mrs. Ekere Usiere, lauded NCDMB’s management and staff for maintaining a reputation of integrity and professionalism in public service.

“We commend the Board for its consistency in promoting ethical conduct,” Usiere said. “I urge the new ACTU members to be fair, disciplined, and impartial in carrying out their responsibilities. Do not witch-hunt or victimize anyone, work hand-in-hand with management to sustain a culture of transparency within the Board.”

During the ceremony, the ACTU Standing Orders and Operations Manual was formally presented to the Executive Secretary, followed by the administration of oaths to newly appointed members.

The reconstituted ACTU is expected to serve as the Board’s internal watchdog, promoting anti-corruption values, monitoring compliance, and ensuring adherence to the Federal Government’s ethics and accountability framework within the local content development ecosystem.
